Dancing in the Night, Philharmonia Northwest
When: Sunday, Jan 24 2016 @ 02:30 PM (GMT-8:00)
Where: St. Stephen's Episcopal Church - Seattle, WA
The title Dancing in the Night fits like a glove the program of this special concert conducted by Taipei-born, Julia Tai. Dvořák's Nocturne in B major and Valse Triste by Sibelius imbue the concert from the start with magical 'harmonies du soir' filigrees. Schnittke's Concerto Grosso, the core of the program will transport you in the elegant and luscious Baroque era as reinterpreted by an acutely modern sensibility. Mozart's Symphony in G minor ends fittingly the program with all the delights of this well-loved music. Come hear prodigiously talented Julia Tai, conductor, violinists Mikhail Shmidt, Artur Girsky and pianist Cristina Valdes perform with aplomb this beautiful music.
