Bach & Handel: Seattle Symphony (Pablo Rus Broseta conducts)
When: Saturday, Feb 25 2017 @ 08:00 PM (GMT-8:00)
Where: Benaroya Hall - Seattle, WA
Let's attend together a beautiful concert featuring a consummate artist, countertenor Reginald Mobley and wonderful conductor Pablo Rus Broseta. Let's revisit a time when countertenors were celebrated as the reigning stars of the stage. We will listen to music celebrating the flamboyant life of the royal court or the rites of the church; we will marvel at the incomparable gifts of Handel, Bach and Rameau and Lully. In the pogram: the brilliant Suite from Nais by Rameau, the virtuosic, colorful aria 'fammi combattere mostri e tifei' for countertenor from Orlando by Handel; Bach's heartfelt aria 'Widerstehe doch der Sunde' from Cantata no. 54; Bach's superb 'Agnus Dei' from Mass in B minor; selections from Lully's Le bourgeois gentilhomme and Handel's Ode to the Birthday of Queen Anne. We will sit in adjacent seats (6+6 people). Feel free to introduce yourselves to your neighbors sitting on adjacent seats! We will hang out together at the intermission. See you soon!
