When: Saturday, Oct 28 2017 @ 07:30 PM (GMT-7:00)
Where: St. Mark's Cathedral - Seattle, WA
"Orfeo and Euridice" is the ultimate story of undying love. Orfeo falls in love with Euridice who dies an untimely death. He follows her in the underworld to rescue her from death. Let's attend together l'Orfeo by Monteverdi, a brilliant operatic show, a full of dramatic word painting and rich orchestration showstopper led by Grammy winner Stephen Stubbs of Pacific MusicWorks with wonderful Canadian tenor Colin Balzer in the title role. L'Orfeo feels fresh and full of relevance in this excellent Saint Mark's Cathedral production. Stephen Stubbs, who won the GRAMMY Award as conductor for Best Opera Recording 2015, spent a 30-year career in Europe. He returned to his native Seattle in 2006 as one of the world’s most respected lutenists, conductors, and baroque opera specialists and in 2014 was awarded the Mayor’s Arts Award for ‘Raising the Bar’ in Seattle. We will sit together on adjacent seats. See you soon!
